LiverpoolSlavery.com is a collaborative space for sharing research on enslavement conducted at LJMU History — including both student and staff research. In Liverpool the legacies of slavery are visible in the built environment, street names, institutions and in continuing racial injustice. Our courses on slavery throughout the Atlantic World aim to better understand this long history, but also how to better recognise and confront racial injustice resulting from this tragic and difficult history. Courses on slavery are taught by Dr Andrea Livesey, a specialist on slavery and its legacies in the US and the UK.
